The International Photography Festival is the highlight of PHOTO IS:RAEL’s year and is the largest photography event in Israel today. Since its formation in 2009 the Festival has become a well-known cultural institution which welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year, presenting works by over 200 leading Israeli and International artists alongside exhibitions of our social activity for two weeks out of the year.

The Festival promotes an interdisciplinary approach and presents the medium of photography in combination with other arts such as dance, performance, theater, opera and sound. During the day the Festival offers guided tours for schools. Then, in the afternoon, the Festival opens its doors to dozens of visitors from across the country who come to see the exhibitions and participate in a variety of lectures, panels and special events.

The next festival is scheduled to take place in November 2019 for the seventh time.

Israel’s largest photography event is back!

10 days | 25 exhibitions | 200 artists from around the world | 25 special events | 15 community outreach exhibitions

The International Photography Festival will take place in November 2018 for the 6th time, and has long become an art institution that draws tens of thousands of visitors each year. The festival features work by more than 200 prominent international photographers alongside unique archival materials, community outreach programs, lectures, master classes, workshops, gallery talks and more.

For us photography is a language, the language in which we speak, communicate, and argue. But photography is also a celebration, and once a year we celebrate the International Photography Festival as a platform for all those who use the language of photography to express themselves and foster dialogue between people and countries.

This year’s festival is dedicated to the theme of Relations: Gendered, interpersonal, cultural, political and more.
